About Us
Here at Aircooled Asylum we're just as nuts about VWs as you are. We are both die hard VW enthusiasts having owned and worked on them for the past ten or so years. We're here to keep your legend alive and kicking!!
Dan trained and worked at a well known VW restoration workshop where he worked on virtually every model of classic VW built followed by a year in maintenance of "normal" and high performance cars such as Ferrari and Cobra. He then moved to Norfolk and became a successfull welder before starting Aircooled Asylum.
Doug worked for British Airways Engineering as an Aircraft Engineering Technician for 28 years. He then moved on to sell Snap-On Tools to the motor trade followed by a 2 year stint building light aircraft engines for Deltair which incuded many VW based engines. He then moved to Norfolk and became a caravan/motorhome technician before starting Aircooled Asylum.
